Beginner's Flying Lessons Information

Anyone who enjoys flying will love this – the chance to get behind the controls and fly a plane themselves. This is the ideal first to find out what a truly exhilarating and addictive experience flying can be.

When you arrive at the airfield you will get a proper pre-flight briefing with a Civil Aviation Authority licensed instructor who will tell you all you need to know about flying and will answer all your questions as well as putting you at ease! You will learn how the aircraft’s controls operate and hear more about what your first flying lesson will entail. You will also learn all about flying safety, so you will know what to expect once you have taken off. After that you will be taken to the airplane where you can see how the control board works and get your first hands-on experience inside the cockpit.

Then it’s time to buckle up and go! Your instructor will take off and show you some basic manoeuvres and how to control the plane once in the air. After that you will get a chance to try it out yourself and truly marvel at how the plane responds to your lightest touch and what it really feels like to control an aircraft on your own. You can try out turning, climbing and descending and your instructor will be there to talk you through everything – you will also be given headphones so it’s easy to talk to your instructor, plus you can hear conversations between your instructor and air traffic control.

After that your instructor will bring you back to the airfield safe and sound while your friends and family watch on and take pictures of your triumph. You will be presented with a certificate which will – should you want to pursue your flying career – count towards a Private Pilot’s licence. Oh, and a massive adrenaline rush as a bonus!
